Mackerel

Mackerel or locally we call them Škomber

Adriatic mackerel has a special place among sea fishing enthusiasts. These are extremely combative fish that come to our sea in early summer and can persist until late autumn (November).

Mackerel stay in larger schools and therefore mackerel fishing is very attractive and fun. We hunt them mainly with natural baits, sardines or squid pieces, artificial baits have also proved successful, especially sabiki and various smaller jigs.

Despite their moderate size, they are extremely combative and have already tired many keen fishermen.
