COMMON PANDORA
Common pandoara is quite common in the Adriatic Sea as well as in the northern part of the Adriatic. Common pandora is classified as a white fish in the sparid family, which also includes gilthead sea bream, but unlike gilthead sea bream, it is immediately recognizable by its characteristic reddish color.
The season for common pandora begins in spring, which is somehow stopped by summer, and common pandora fishing is again successful in late autumn and winter (November, December, January).
The traditional fishing is done from an anchored boat, with sensitive rods with a very soft tip. Natural bait shells, various sea worms, crustaceans, pieces of cuttlefish are used for the bait … Japanise Taijigging using artificial baits inchiku and kabura have also proved successful.
